I'm trying to go through this build process and have run into an issue. I am not new to building in linux/unix but have not used msys nor mingw very much.
The article says to get some tools first. I'm assuming the best/easiest ones to get are the pre-built tar.gz files and that the place to extract them is to the msys root directory ie: c:/msys/1.0/ Correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps it would be good to have links to sourceforge for the respective tools in the tutorial (I can add this to the article once I find out this is the case.)
Additional questions:
GCC -- which version 2, 3 or 4? (I'm guessing anything but 4...)
MSYS Developer Toolkit -- Couldn't find an installer on SourceForge. Had to get it here: http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/gnu/mingw/?fisel=mM
MSYS -- Same as above, is the installer no longer deployed to sourceforge?
